Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Looop ("Looop", "we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers meetlooop.com, creator pages on mylooop.link, the Looop app, our emails and the waitlist (together, the "Services").
We are the controller of the personal information described here. If a creator uses Looop to run their own page, shop or contact list, that creator is responsible for the information they collect from their own visitors and customers, and we process it on their behalf.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details, such as your email address and name.
- The handle you reserve and choices you make, such as the template, look and features you are interested in.
- Account and profile content once accounts open, such as your page, bio, photos, links and products.
- Messages you send us, such as support requests and feedback.
- Payment details when paid plans or checkout are live. Card details are collected and processed by our payment providers, not stored by us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as browser type, device type, operating system, language and approximate location (country) derived from your network.
- Your IP address. On the waitlist we store only a one-way hash of it, used to prevent spam and abuse.
- Usage data such as pages viewed, links clicked, the page that referred you and campaign tags (UTM parameters).
- Cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.
Information from others
- If someone invites you with a referral link, we record that you joined through their link.
- Service providers who help us run the Services, such as hosting, email delivery and payment providers, may share information with us about your use of their service with Looop.
- If you connect a third-party account (for example a social or payment account), we receive the information you authorize that service to share.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Services: hold your handle, run the waitlist and referral rewards, create and host your page, and process transactions.
- To communicate with you: send launch updates, service messages, security notices and replies to your requests.
- To improve the Services: understand how people use them, fix problems and build new features.
- To keep the Services safe: prevent fraud, spam, abuse, phishing and other harmful activity, and enforce our Terms.
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and responding to lawful requests.
We do not use your personal information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Services you ask for, such as reserving a handle or running your account.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, improve and promote the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and send updates about Looop to people who joined the waitlist. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Consent: where required, for example for certain cookies or marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to process information.
6. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we protect transfers with safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Waitlist information is kept until launch and while you remain interested, or until you ask us to delete it. Account information is kept while your account is open and for a limited period afterwards to handle disputes, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, hashed identifiers where possible and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee security. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting earlier processing.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or of targeted advertising. We do not do either.
- Not be treated differently for exercising your rights.
To make a request, email info@meetlooop.com from the address linked to your information. We may need to verify your identity. An authorized agent may make a request for you with proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request where the law requires it.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Emails
We send waitlist and product updates to people who joined the waitlist or created an account. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we honor requests promptly. We may still send service messages, such as security or billing notices, while you have an account.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if higher, to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links and services
Creator pages and our site may link to websites and services we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will post the new version here with a new date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the Services before the changes take effect.
